After the long streak of progamer retirements, to see a new signing is a breath of fresh air. Daily eSports reported today that Kim "Kal" Ku Hyun (ex-STX SouL, ex-ACE) has joined the ranks of Prime.
Regarded as one of the most creative Protosses of the BroodWar days and among the most daring shuttle drop and harass-oriented players, Kal was drafted into STX SouL in 2006, quickly becoming a Proleague regular. On the individual league front, Kal banks multiple top four finishes at MSLs and OSL, as well as silver medals from the GomTV MSL Season 4 and WCG 2010.
The transition from BroodWar to StarCraft 2 found Kal among the ranks of Air Foce ACE where he would finish the SKP12 Proleague season with a score of 8-5. ACE's departure from the line-up of the next Proleague season, however, left Kal off the radar and it is only now that he will be give a chance to shine.
Kal's recruitment by Prime aims to strengthen not just the Protoss line-up of the team but the roster in general, now that they are one MarineKing short and in the search for a new direction, not being part of eSF anymore.
