Dear erases Soulkey at Season 3 finals

Scoreboarding a 4-0 against Woongjin's ace, SouL's Dear achieved back-to-back WCS championships as he took the Season 3 trophy mere one week after he was crowned champion of Korea.

Dear began his Season 3 run in Group C where he defeated Liquid`Hero in the opening match and subsequently repeated this result in the group's decider to come out second after Oz. Once in the playoffs, Dear upped his game and ousted MC 3-0 as well as Korea Season 2 champion Maru 3-1 to enter the grand finals with a big momentum.

Similar was the story of his opponent Soulkey. The Woongjin's poster boy finished second in Group A after MC but didn't drop a single map in the playoffs, eliminating Oz and Trap along the way and looking forward to taking another Protoss head.

The tables turned around completely for Soulkey once the grand final started. The Zerg tried a variety of strategies from ordinary roach/hydras, to late game swarm hosts to mutalisk techs and base races but Dear could never be broken. Although the Protoss was almost death on a couple of occasions, particularly in set two when he was behind in the economy war during the mid game and in set three where Soulkey's muta tech caught him a bit off guard, the end result was always the same - a Dear victory. Employing zealot warp-ins, colossus deathballs and zealot/phoenix rushes, Dear took the uncontested 4-0 and the $40,000 that go with it.
