The third day of Europe's up/down matches spells the end for two of oldest names in StarCraft as Strelok and Ret leave WCS after finishing last in their groups.
While the competition in Group E was a tough one, the top two spots came as no surprise as Mousesports' Lucifron rule the day with a score of 4-1 against Uzer and TLO. The Spaniard thus returns for his third consecutive premier league appearance after his Ro16 exit in season two.
Next to Lucifron came Liquid's TLO who will also be playing in premier league for the time. Unlike Lucifron, TLO's exit was a bit earlier as the German Zerg was ousted in the Ro32 of season two, placed in a group of death with MMA, MaNa and Tails.
What did come as a surprise was the elimination of a true veteran of StarCraft, namely Liquid's Ret who took but one map on his journey to fourth place in Group F. The Dutchman faced heavy opponents in Thorzain and BlinG - both of whom would eventually go on to take the group as first and second, respectively - and will be trying his chance at the preliminaries next season.
The last up/down groups are scheduled for today at 18:00 CET. Line-up and opening matches below.
