IPL reported to have not payed out prize money

Multiple players - including tournament champion Leenock - recently tweeted that they're still awaiting their prize money from the last IGN Proleague. Statement from tournament officials still pending.

Whole nine months after the end of the last IPL, a number of participants are still awaiting the prize money they're owed. This became known today after a flurry of tweets coming from players from every region, including Leenock, DongRaeGu, HuK and Snute.

Put together, the money owed to the players above alone total up to $43,000, fourty thousand belonging to IPL 5 champion Leenock. Additional sources on Team Liquid forums further indicate that paying out delays are not exclusive to IPL 5 contenders and participants in the final IPTL season - namely team MVP - have only received payment after continual harassment and threats for legal actions. Similar is the situation with Acer's Zerg Scarlett, who had apparently received her $300 after multiple messages to former IPL general manager David Ting.

With the acquisition of IPL assets and technology by Blizzard earlier this year and the closing of the brand altogether, the answer to what will happen to the prize money is still unknown. According to Blizzard representative Cloaken, his company is investigating the problem so disclosure on who (and if) will pay out the owed amount should follow some time in the future.

We will provide update on the situation as it develops.
