After the defeats of HasuObs and Welmu earlier today, Europe continued to struggle. Paired with Korean up-and comer Duckdeok, Alliance's Naniwa was just as unsuccessful as his fellow westerners and took but one map from the MVP Protoss. Apart from elimination arguably Europe's strongest contender, Duckdeok further ensured that Koreans will be in the majority come playoffs, winning all three of their games against the home turf representatives.

The only foreigner to make it out alive of the quarter finals was Grubby, who outmuscled Mouz's Vortix in a revenge match from the Ro32, coming back from a one game deficit to win it 3-1. Vortix is thus added to the vast collection of notable names slain by the Dutchman this season, consisting of Bunny, ForGG, Ret and Mvp.

With the end of day one, we have our semi finals. At 16:00 CET, MC meets MMA in an all-Korean face off while two hours later, Grubby goes on to play duckdeok. The morning of August 11th will be occupied by the 5th/6th place consolation matches as HasuObs takes on Welmu and Naniwa goes against Vortix.
