The only player to score a flawless playday in WCS Europe Ro16, Mousesports' Vortix conquered the last group of the circuit, towering over MaNa and MC in two ZvPs. For the Spaniard, this will be a first playoffs appearance after he faced Ro16 elimination in season one at the expense of Happy and BabyKnight.

Second in the group came MC who will be the third Korean representative in the quarter finals. The Boss Toss ended up playing Russian Protoss Titan twice, scoring an aggregate 4-1 agaisnt him to move foward and leave both him and Mouz's MaNa in the bottom half of the group and thus out of the competition.

The pairings for the playoffs were also drawn last night and August 10th will begin with three straight Europe versus Korea matches, ending with the fan-favorite clash between Vortix and Grubby. The losers in the quarter final rounds will then play additional matches to determine the fifth and sixth player to make the season 2 finals at Gamescom.

WCS America Ro16 also came to an end in the following hours, with Group D bending to Polt's will, who made out in first position after a 4-0 against Alicia and Jim. For the CM-sponsored Terran, this is a third premier tournament playoffs spot this year after the quarter final finish at IEM Shanghai and the gold medal at MLG Spring Championship.

Second after Polt followed iG's Jim, who recovered after a loss to the leader by beating Alicia in the deciding match. As a results, China is now two for two in the playoffs as yesterday saw MacSed advancing as second behind Scarlett in Group C.

The night did not go sans some controversy, however, and the community boards were thrown in befuddlement after the conclusion of the losers' match between Axiom team-mates Alicia and Crank. The situation in question had the latter definitively ahead in economy after a successful stalker raid but calling a GG in the middle of the battle, giving Alicia the victory.

In the aftermath of the events that had the player accused of match-fixing and purposefully abandoning the game against his team-mate, Crank released a statement explaining his tap-out as a result of growing neck pains, hurting his concentration and having him make bad decisions in the final game.
