Just moments ago MLG CEO Sundance DiGiovanni tweeted that, unless plans change, there will be no Starcraft 2 at MLG Columbus this November.
This news comes after North America's largest esports tournament organizer had elected to step down as the steward of Blizzard's World Championship Series for the America's region to focus on shorter events, such as the 2013 Summer Invite.
MLG also made waves in late June when it announced that it would be foregoing a Summer Championship as expected from last year's schedule, instead opting to focus on the year-ending event in Columbus. DiGiovanni had also noted at that time that other, smaller events could still be possible.
Just so folks know - we are currently not planning to run SC2 at Cbus. Should that change we'll let you know via official channels.
