Foreigners are not the only thing that is in deficit, so are Terrans. As of the end of Ro16, aLive is the sole representative of the race with Polt and Iaguz still in the pool.

If not many Europeans and Americans made it to Shanghai in the first place which naturally lowered their chances of a strong presence in the playoffs, IEM Shanghai is certainly not going well for the home-turf competitors who were en masse in day one. Of all Chinese representatives, Jim was the one to go the farthest but a disqualificaiton in the last rounds of the bracket made for an all-Korean triumph in stage one. This meant that only MacSed - winner of the Chinese qualifier - would take participation in the Ro16 but to hosts' bad luck, the iG Protoss ended up in the bottom half of Group B after a 0-2 loss to Oz.

IEM Shanghai resumes tonight at 03:00 CET when the matches of the last group will be played out before the tournament moves on to playoffs.
