Ko "HyuN" Seok Hyun was crowned champion of DreamHack Valencia after going 3-1 against Jaedong's otherworldly ZvZ win percentage and taking his first premier gold of his career.
Extremely dominant during the entire DreamHack Valencia, HyuN entered the grand final with a 18-3 in maps, taking down notable names like TheSTC, Lucifron and Goswser on his way to the top. His opponent there was legendary StarCraft figure Jaedong, who was equally as dominant throughout the tournament and was a second time DH finalist.
With the ridiculous 87% win rate and 22 wins in his last 23 BoX series on his account, Jaedong was looking like the big favorite to take home his first gold medal since he made the transition to StarCraft 2. As the opening game on Bel'Shir went to the Tyrant it looked even more to be the case but Quantic's Zerg would not have it so. Back-to-back wins tilted the scales into HyuN's favor, who then only needed a simple +1 roach timing push to catch Jaedong during a droning window and punish him lethally for this mistake.
While HyuN triumphs for the first time with a premier gold, this will be Jaedong's third time he fails to walk out of a DreamHack event with a trophy on his back.
