Half of the Protoss players in WCS Korea Season 2 OSL are already out after the penultimate day of round of 16 competition. Still, at least one will make it out by the end of the week and will join the four Terrans and two Zergs in the playoffs.
The first half of the day passed under the sign of games without real meaning. In Group A, reigning Korea champion Soulkey cemented his #1 position after blanking SKT's PartinG and sits on a 6-1 score in map ahead of everyone else. The Zerg powerhouse will be followed by either soO or Symbol, who play the concluding Group A match on Thursday.
In the second match for the day, Flash walked out flawless against Bbyong and finished his Season 2 run in third place in Group B. The only thing left to be decided in the pool is who will advance as second and who as first as Innovation plays Bomber in two days' time.
In Group C, Hyvaa 2-0'd First to keep his chances for a playoffs spot alive. The STX Zerg showed dominating macro performance in the two games against IM's Protoss ace but whether he will make it through or not depends on the Thursday match between Rain and Fantasy. Although the famous Terran is already ouf of the competition, a third loss in the group will give his team-mate a chance to fight for the top eight.
The only pool that saw some real change in the standings was Group D as Supernova won the deciding match against Trap 2-1 to oust yet another Protoss from the tournament. Although the second most represented race in the Ro32, the Protoss have been thinning out since the start of the season and with Trap's elimination they might be down to just one representative from Group C if Rain's fails to beat Fantasy. At the same time, Supernova's victory ensures that Terrans will be the race that dominates the round of eight ratio-wise, a curious turn of events considering how there were just eight of them in the Ro32.
