The games

The first highlight of the night was an upset in the series of Bubbles vs Coach Park, the well known coach of EG-TL and a renowned figure in the eSports community. Game one began with Bubbles cannon rushing Coach Park which he managed to successfully decimate Park's base allowing Bubbles to take game one despite a valiant effort from Park to hold on. Game two Park attempted a gateway proxy that Bubbles managed to scout. He responded with two gateways of his own and a forge, Bubbles then pushed across the map and cannon rushed Coach Park again and although Parkl was almost able to hold it off he just did not have enough damage to take out the cannons giving Bubbles the quick 2:0 in a cheesy series.

The second highlight of the night was a fantastic series between Catz and Dragon. Game one Catz went for his infamous third expansion at his opponents natural, which managed to catch Dragon by surprise and opened a timing window for Catz that he was able to take advantage of. With a stunning display of skill and timing Catz was able to break Dragon's defense. Catz was then able to spread creep all of the map which denied Dragon the ability to expand which put him severely behind and allowed Catz to eventually tech to ultralisk and take game one. Game two Dragon went for a hellbat/marauder timing which went largely unscouted until it was already on the way to Catz's base. However, Dragon did not have nearly enough marauders to support the attack, which allowed Catz to decimate Dragons attack and put Dragon severely behind and let Catz take game two and the series 2:0.

Another amazing series was between Startale teamates Sound and Golden. Game one Sound performed an amazing play when he was able to bypass Golden's queens and rack up a huge amount of worker kills with his group of hellions. Golden then attempted to counterattack with a large group of ling/baneling but was completly shut down by Sound due to the fact that he continued hellion production which allowed him to counter Golden's composition. Game two Golden was allowed to macro freely and developed a large lead, Sound had to inflict a large amount of damage to bring him back into the game. Sound then performed some steller drop play with constant aggression that brought him back into the game, he was not only able to destroy Golden's third but he also was able to destroy his army as well taking game two and the series 2:0.

Demuslim vs Sasquatch was an extremely back and forth series. Game one Demuslim was able to pick apart Sasquatch's economy by his constantly drop harass. He was even able to decimate all of Sasquatch's main which allowed him to take game one. Game two Sasquatch was able to secure his economy and keep Demsulim on his back foot with some constant pressure on his third. Even though Demuslim made a valiant stand against Sasquatch's forces it eventually proved too much. Game three was fantastic with both players constantly counterattacking, Demsulim was just everywhere with his drops. The armies were constantly being pushed back and forth until the final fight with supplies nearly even when Demuslim's bio/widow mine force and Sasquatch's baneling/ultralisk army clashing, thanks to Demuslim's fantastic widow mine positioning and his micro he was able to take the game and the series 2:1.

The final highlight of the night was between Illusion and Incontrol. Game one Illusion was able to completely control the game denying Incontrol's third and decimating his army taking a convincing game one. Game two Illusion was able to take an early lead some early harrass. Incontrol had to inflict a massive amount of damage to put him back in the game. Incontrol went for a dark templar shrine and sent five dark templars that managed to destroy all of Illusion's economy. Incontrol then flanked Illusion's army and was able to take game two with some amazing plays. Game three told a different story with Illusion going for hellbat drops and even though Incontrol was able to deflect the drops without suffering much damage he took a less then favorable engage and his army ended up being destroyed by Illusion's hellbat/siege tank army.
