For the first time since the release of Wings of Liberty, the innovative TL Zerg finishes in the top three of a premier tournament.

The constant increase in performance which Dario "TLO" Wünsch saw in the last few months finally led him past the semi finals. After three days of competition at Krefeld, Germany, the Zerg in blue secured the third place at HomeStory Cup VII by overtaking Quantic's HyuN and took hom $3,000.
TLO made it to the HSC VII quarterfinals by banking an aggregate 4-1 score in the group stage, eliminating prominent competitors like Dragon, Harstem, Bunny and NightEnd in the process. The German was then paired against Azubu captain and ZvZ specialist Violet - a match which had the Korean as the clear favorite - but ended up dropping just a single map against all odds, showing Violet the door after a 3-1.
The QF upset put TLO against his Terran team-mate and Liquid ace Taeja in a revenge match from DreamHack Summer. If the previous encounter between the two turned out to be an easy 2-0 for the Terran, there was much more thrill and intrigue this time around. Taeja opened the series strong by taking the first two maps but TLO's persistance allowed him to come back, tie the score and push it into game five. Only then was Taeja able to finally prevail and send his team-mate down to the bronze final.
TLO's opponent in the match for the bronze was Quantic HyuN, who had just been dealt a 2-3 comeback from a third Liquid member, reigning HSC champion Snute. The two players went map for map from the beginning till the end and since TLO was able to snatch out the first set, he ended up on top of the $3,000 series and marked his highest premeir tournament finish in his career.
