NASL takes over WCS America

The operation of WCS America changes hands as MLG decides to refocus on their own brand.

Even though the abundant criticism towards the production of WCS America by the MLG studio have mostly met open ears, the torch that is StarCraft 2's flagship tournament in the New World is passed onto NASL. The new crew will not take over before the round of 16 but until then Blizzard itself will be responsible for the offline section of Season 2. The NASL announcement reads as follows:

The entire team at NASL is quite thrilled for this opportunity, and looks forward to once again broadcast exciting daily StarCraft II competition. While the team gets ready to ramp up for the Season 2 offline events, Blizzard will operate the WCS America Season 2 Challenger League and Premier League round of 32. Of course, as the NASL casters are quite eager to cast StarCraft II, they will pop in each week to help cast some of the Challenger League and Premier League matches, as well.

The North American Star League, which put its own tournaments on hold since the end of 2012, has proven itself well versed with regular content as well as their shortlived, yet praised roundtable show "The Pulse." It has been rumored that NASL might switch to other eSports titles, such as World of Tanks, or even be closing their doors entirely, after pictures of the deconstruction of the stage set have been put on Twitter.
