Many European powerhouses met their end last night during the final group stage matches. 2012 Stockholm Winner Thorzain finished fourth in Group 3 as the biggest upset, seeing Polish underdog Tefel advance alongside group favorite Taeja. Similar was the fate of reigning Summer champion MaNa who dropped out together with the last American representative Suppy in Group 5, allowing for French up-and-comer Dayshi to move forward.

While the other results were more or less within the ordinary, the success of on Jeffrey "Show" Brusi must be pointed out. The Swedish Terran who has been out of the radar for a long time now, edged out compatriots and notable participants Vipro and SortOf and advanced to playoffs second in Group 4 next to IM Protoss ace Squirtle.

The playoffs matches are already under way. The Korean versus foreign presence is split exactly in the middle and by the end of today, DreamHack Summer will have its new champion.
