Proleague leaders upset by EG-TL, the joint roster climbs up from last place

Two and a half weeks before the end of the regular season, league leaders Woongjin Stars score their second loss in a row, this time to the joint roster of EG-TL, their first place finish now even more threatened.

Oz, Revival, HerO and aLive were victorious for EG-TL today in a R6W3 upset as the unholy alliance dealt a 4-2 loss to Woongjin Stars, trampling key figures like Light, ZerO, Flying and Soulkey along the way. So far, the boys in blue are two for two this round and will look forward to make it a three-game spree on Tuesday as they play KeSPA's Team 8 with Zenio, HerO, JYP and Oz as the opening quartet.

Although it's already too late for EG-TL to make the playoffs, they at least climbed away from the last place position which they've been occupying for a long time now and hurt Woongjin Stars' chances to finish first in the ranking. After the crushing 0-4 loss to T8 last week, this is the second loss for the home of Code S champion Soulkey and Season 1 finalist sOs this round and now the gap between Stars and KT Rolster is just four wins, with KT two matches behind.

In the second match for the day, Team 8 suffered a close loss to CJ Entus after almost turning it around for a 0-3 through TY, Cure and TRUE. Unfortunately for T8, the ace match would not go into their favor and their three-game streak was stopped by CJ ace Effort, who scored his second win for the day.

In tomorrow's matches SK Telecom play Samsung KHAN and KT Rolster meet STX SouL in series which will determine the 2-5th place standings two weeks before the end. It's a day of special importance for KHAN, who need a victory against Boxer's team to keep their chances for making playoffs as they are the only one of the four below the 20 wins line and finishing top four would require zero mistakes in the remaining three matches.
