EG's Jaedong took the ace match against Hydra, giving EG-TL their first win for the round
The day began with a classic David against Goliath battle as Team 8 took on ranking leaders Woongjin Stars and dealt them a loss nobody really expected. Woongjin led in with the very best their roster has to offer, putting Code S champion Soulkey first and Season 1 runner-up sOs as second. Despite the powerful opening line-up, Woongjin Stars only met defeat at the hands of Team 8's Terran punchers and gave up a 0-2 lead after dying to Cure's hellbats and TY's bio/viking ball.
Down two games and both their aces, Woongjin's hope lay in Light and Free who came as third and fourth in attempt to even out the series, but to no avail. Team 8's Protoss duo in Terminator and Argo changed up the Terran line-up and closed up the all-kill in under thirty minutes.
This is the first loss for Woongjin in three matches and the first one against Team 8 since round three. Nevertheless, with four wins ahead of the current #2 KT Rolster, Stars' first place is still unthreatened.

Over at the second match for the day, the joint roster of EG-TL came out victorious after a seven-game tug of war against the sixth in the rankings CJ Entus. Revival, Oz and Taeja were victorious for the "foreigners" and gave EG-TL a 3-2 lead before the sixth game but HerO's loss to Hydra pushed the game into an ace match.
CJ decided to stay with Hydra for the seventh game while EG-TL sent forth Jaedong. With 73% ZvZ win rate for the BroodWar bonjwa, it turned out to be a wise decision for the joint roster and the team under Coach Park's mentorship walked out with their first victory for the round.
Despite their triumph today, EG-TL continue to be last in the overall rankings, tied with Team 8 in series wins but 12 points behind in maps.
