The joint forces of Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid opened R5W4 with a loss, throwing away a direct chance to climb up from the bottom eighth position.
At the start of R5W4, both Team 8 and EG-TL were sitting at 12-21, meaning that whichever team took today's series would temporary stay away from the very bottom of the table - not the most lucrative prospect but one which could still play the important role of a morale booster.
Leading on with Jaedong against Cure didn't pay any dividends for EG-TL and the joint roster started on the negative. Revival was sent out as second to tie the score but little did EG-TL know that this would be their only victory for the day. Following up on Cure's fall with the unleashing of TY, Team 8 went on a three-kill streak, shutting out any hopes EG-TL might have had for climbing up to the 7th spot. Abusing his multitasking prowess through medivac drops, TY sliced through Revival, Oz and HerO and became the symbol of victory for Team 8 today.

The second series of the day saw two old rivals going against each other for the second spot in the rankings. Like Team 8 and EG-TL, SKT and KT Rolster were dead even in series and so the winner of that particular match would take the spot directly below undisputable leaders Woongjin Stars.
In the land of Proleague winners format - a country almost exclusive ruled by the strong of the day and/or PvPs - the ZvZ opener between soO and Action was somewhat weird, but after the triumph of the former over the latter, things quickly reverted back to normal. Flash himself was sent out to stop soO but was in turn countered by 2012's world champion PartinG.
This gave green light to the familiar Protoss-intensive meta and KT resorted to Stats to eliminate Parting and Fantasy, putting SKT one game away from defeat and forcing them into their only logical choice - call out Rain.
Call out Rain they did and the OSL champion diligently carried out his responsibilities of an ace player. Neither Stats, nor KT's last choice in Zest proved any trouble and SKT walked out victorious on the back of a double kill from, statistically, the most winningest player in the tournament.
The short week four ends tomorrow with Woongjin Stars playing STX SouL.
