After the first round of WCS EU challanger games, eSports fans were expecting with eagerness the revenge match between crowd-favorites MC and Grubby who played each other for the fourth time last night.
The history between MC and Grubby goes all the way back to IEM Season 6 world finals where the Korean was able to take down the Dutch eSports veteran and cast him out of the group stage of the tournament. Grubby's revenge, however, would be exerted at the IEM VII Singapore semi-finals and once again at HomeStory Cup 6 with scores of 3-2 and 2-1, respectively.
With the record between the two growing richer, their WCS EU challanger circuit match was destined to become the highlight of the day. And this time around, Grubby would not allow MC to take even a single game. Using a DT opening into a blink follow-up put the Dutchman on 1-0 quickly, a lead he then doubled into victory by going for phoenix raids and zealot/DT harassments into massive late-game colossus/tempest deathball which shredded the entirity of MC.
Grubby wasn't the only person to help towards the thinning out of Koreans last night and Acer's Bly was kind enough to give him a hand. In a 2-0 ZvT, the Ukrainian destroyed MVP's Tails and advanced to the third round where he's to play Feast.
All in all, only two Koreans will be fighting for Code S spots today. Those are MMA, who was directly seeded to round 3 due to his Code S performance and Shuttle who won over Beastyqt last night.
