SunCow, the Polish champion

Who is the best player in Poland? Looking at the Polish Championship of 2006, it is SunCow. 16 players, one winner.

The final of the Polish Championship 2006 was played last weekend, where 16 players from Poland had qualified for the offline event. Held in Warsaw, Poland, with more than 200 people attending to all the game tournaments there. Looking at the StarCraft finals, many of Poland's finest were there, such as

SunCow,

Predator and

Sonic. Sadly, neither

Draco nor

Hullah were present. Hullah could not go because of exams, and Draco was busy » winning DreamHack Summer 2006. The event was sponsored by ASUS, AMD, Logitech with hardware prizes, and according to the people there it was a great event.

The event were spread out on two days, where the Double Elimination tournament was to be played. The WCG 2005 player

Kazio lost in the first round of the Winner Bracket against Exmario[VBK] who did a great tournament. We also saw

Vapur lose early, against the Zerg dominator mYm.SunCow (picture). SunCow stayed in the Winner Bracket, defeating

Exmario[VBK] in the Winner Bracket finals, and then faced him again in the Grand Final, after Exmario's short sejour in Loser Bracket (winning against Sonic).

The Grand Final was played in best of three best of threes. SunCow, coming from Winner Bracket, was in the lead 1-0 in best of threes. Many expected SunCow to win it quite easily, but Exmario actually won a best of three with 2-1. The last and final best of three was however SunCow's, and won 2-0. This win gave him not only another great title, but also an ASUS X800 Silencer, a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse and an AMD Athlon 3200+ processor.

Two Polish players winning two big offline tournaments this weekend, Draco at DreamHack Summer in Sweden and SunCow at the Polish Championships in Poland. Both are from MeetYourMakers, and are both rumoured to travel to Korea in just a couple of days. Remains to be seen if it is true.
