Effects of the Beta: Objective focus and other card ideas

The Closed Beta's main goal is of course to get feedback from players to make the game even better. This time, Jeff Kaplan wants more ideas for end-of-game cards.

A lot has happened since October 27, when the beta went live. Blizzard started inviting players from all over the Americas and Europe regions, and these players have probably been spending most of their time since in maps such as Dorado or Numbani.

One of the features that was only revealed shortly before the beta went live, is the end-of-game cards feature used to allow players to vote on the match's MVP. The cards are automatically generated based on special feats from the game, such as most damage taken, most damage dealt or longest time 'on fire'. But the possibilities of these cards are of course endless. Jeff Kaplan agrees.

In this topic on the official Overwatch forums, player teabone mentions that he noticed that none of the cards ever reward a player for focusing on the objectives. He thinks that this will only make it so that players will focus on the objective even less, just because they can get rewarded for stats like kills. Jeff Kaplan definitely agrees, and says that objective-based cards will get added to the game at some point.

He continues his post with asking about what other cards players would love to see in the game. This is a very cool, direct, and instantly noticeable way to get your ideas into the game! And so players immediately start giving suggestions such as: card for the play of the game, card to recognize the best longrange shooter, and cards that highlight particular rivalries between players from the opposite teams.

Do you have an idea yourself, head on over to the topic because you can be sure Blizzard will read your suggestion!
