Claret is part of the new faction Flint Workshop, and will have a new Specialty that has not been officially announced yet.
HoYoverse has officially revealed one of Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2’s next Agents. Claret Flint, a member of new faction called Flint Workshop, will be an S-rank Electric agent, with a mysterious all-new specialty that is yet to be officially announced. Her quick teaser was uploaded on ZZZ’s official social media pages:
Who is Claret in Zenless Zone Zero?
Claret Flint is the Director of the Flint Workshop, one of the five central departments of Roscaelifer. Her department serves as the state's Porcelloy equipment research and manufacturing centre. As one of the excerpts featured on Claret's character profile on the official ZZZ website puts it: "Let me educate you on something - the 'Flint' in front of Porcelloy isn't just there for show."
Claret first appeared in ZZZ's Season 3 trailer, "Before the Wind Rises." Players next encounter her during Version 3.1's story, The Long Goodbye, where she, along with Sigrid and Lindverne Sunbringer, sits down for tea to welcome distinguished guests and representatives from New Eridu.
Claret has a particularly prickly attitude when Belle/Wise introduces themselves, especially since the Phaethon's treatment requires quite a sizable amount of Porcelloy, which appears to be a precious and rare resource in Roscaelifer and the wider world of ZZZ.
Claret's character profile on the official ZZZ website also paints a pretty clear picture of just how much control she has over Roscaelifer's Porcelloy. Velina Airgid describes her as "more than an Administrative Director" and "the biggest creditor in all of Roscaelifer," while an urgent letter from Lady Sunbringer is considerably less subtle about asking for more: “Claret! SOS! Just lend me a teensy-weensy bit more Porcelloy, pretty please! The 50 Bangboo handling the transport are already on their way, so just hand the goods over to them. No need to fuss over entertaining them!”
The Flint Workshop's purse strings appear to be just as firmly in Claret's hands. Another excerpt on the website features a mentor at the workshop reassuring an apprentice worried about the hefty funding needed for a batch of research projects that "our dear Lady Claret has always been easily swayed!"
Roxy Ifrita Pryce, meanwhile, shows another side of Claret entirely. In her agent record, Roxy asks for another five minutes, prompting Claret to immediately offer to cancel a council meeting for her, only to change course just as quickly when Roxy changes her mind: "Very well, I shall begin preparing your outfit at once, milady."
Eagle-eyed Proxies have also spotted what could be a surprisingly early reference to Claret's faction. Grace's signature nail gun bears the name "Flint," accompanied by a blurry logo that appears alongside it. Given Claret's role and the Flint Workshop's work forging tools and equipment, it's possible the weapon could be connected to the same organisation, although this has not been confirmed.
There is one complication with that theory. The Flint Workshop operates in Roscaelifer, which isn't widely known in New Eridu, so how its name could have ended up on Grace's weapon is a bit of a mystery. It could be an early hint at the Flint Workshop, but the connection hasn't been confirmed.
Who is Claret Flint’s VA in Zenless Zone Zero?
Claret Flint’s English voice actress is Cassandra Lee Morris, who is known to be the voice of Mualani in Genshin Impact, Morgana in Persona 5, Yuumi in League of Legends, and Sothis in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, along with other roles.
Her Japanese voice actress is Ueda Kana (植田 佳奈), who is most popular for voicing Rin Tohsaka of the Fate series. She also is the Japanese VA for Yoimiya in Genshin Impact and Carlotta of Wuthering Waves.
Claret’s Chinese VA is Liu Zhixiao (柳知萧), who is popular for her role as Citali in Genshin Impact, Misha in Honkai Star Rail, Selena in Punishing: Gray Raven, and Camellya in Wuthering Waves.
When is Claret coming out in Zenless Zone Zero?
Claret will be releasing in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2, which will launch in the second week of September, following the usual six-week version banner cycle of the game. The other Agents to be released in this banner have yet to be revealed.
