The latest trailer shows off Roscaelifer and teases two original Void Hunters, but raises more questions than answers.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 is just around the corner, and as the countdown begins toward the new season, HoYoverse has unveiled a new teaser for the upcoming season, named Before the Wind Rises, showing players a glimpse of the new region, characters, story and mysteries surrounding the Phaethon siblings, the Void Hunters, and the world wherein New Eridu exists.
The trailer was released on Zenless Zone Zero's official social media accounts on Thursday (30 April):
Here’s everything that was revealed this week.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0's new region Roscaelifer
Teased since Version 1.0 in vague texts, and mentioned in some story chapters of Version 2.0 onwards, Roscaelifer is the next region coming to Zenless Zone Zero. The aesthetics of Roscaelifer appear quite different from Sixth Street, Janus Quarter, the Outer Ring and the Waifei Peninsula. In the trailer, there were flying cars, opulent, futuristic-looking buildings mixed with European architecture, filled with Bangboos that seem to have a bit more of a relaxing time living here.
The location is a bit reminiscent of Honkai Star Rail’s Belobog, except more advanced, more refined with the icy regions, but also a bit more lived-in, with some graffiti spotted in the corners of its streets.
Who are the new characters in Version 3.0 and who are their voice actors?

Who are the new enemies in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0?
Unlike the arc involving the Exaltists and the Creator in Season 2, there really isn't any one clear enemy in the trailer so far. Most of the characters shown the trailer seem to be either neutral or helpful to the Proxy, but a few others are shrouded with mystery.
One of the most obviously mysterious Agents is Remielle Dan, whose wings turned white in this trailer. Based on the game's original lore teaser, she seems to be among the original seven Void Hunters, spotted with someone from the Falkenhayn Mercenary Troupe named Lieutenant Colonel Dan, and with another character looking almost exactly like her, except in Version 2.7, she had black wings. Her motives seem relatively vague following the end of that chapter, but she now appears in this trailer looking for answers.
Another mysterious character is The Storyteller, who had an ominous presence throughout the trailer. In one shot, she opens the door to talk with someone, and a familiar photo from the Phaeton’s album can be seen. It included an image of the siblings as children, along with some of their friends in Helios Academy.
Finally, we have the most controversial reveal of all: Lady Sunbringer. While Lady Sunbringer is known for many acts of kindness, the way the trailer depicts Remielle’s ominous encounter with her makes it difficult to judge whose side she's on.
However, given that HoYoverse loves using misdirection in their trailers, cutscenes and stories, it's difficult to make any firm conclusions based on this video alone.
When is Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 launching?
Version 3.0 is shaping up to be a big step forward for Zenless Zone Zero, with Roscaelifer taking the spotlight, and a bunch of new faces hinting at where the story’s headed next. The trailer doesn’t really spell things out for players. It actually leaves us with more questions, especially about who’s doing what and why, but that feels very on-brand for HoYoverse. At this stage, a lot of the lore is still open to interpretation, so most of what we’re seeing here leans more towards speculation than anything concrete.
