T1 claim sixth Worlds title at Worlds 2025

This is T1 and Faker's sixth Worlds title, and their third straight win since 2023.

T1 are once again the League of Legends (LoL) World Champions for 2025. In a gripping 3–2 victory over KT Rolster, the reigning champions lifted the Summoner’s Cup for the third straight year, securing their sixth World Championship and extending their era of dominance in League of Legends.

The road to the final

T1’s journey this year was far from straightforward. The team opened with a confident victory against FlyQuest, but early stumbles followed, including losses to CTBC Flying Oyster and Gen.G. However, T1 turned things around in the second half of the Swiss Stage, where they swept 100 Thieves 2–0, then followed with another clean 2–0 over Movistar KOI, closing out the Swiss Stage with a hard-earned qualification that placed them among the final eight teams.

Once they reached the Knockout Stage, the champions shifted gears. Their quarterfinal againstAnyone's Legend went the full distance, a tense five-game series where T1’s calm under pressure saw them outlast the LPL representatives. In the semifinals, they took complete command, sweeping Top Esports to secure their fourth consecutive appearance in the Worlds Final.

T1 extend their reign

The final against KT Rolster pushed them to the brink once more. Both teams traded momentum, map control, and late-game edges across the series, but in the decisive fifth game, T1’s composure sealed the moment. With their win, T1 raise the Summoner's Cup to claim their sixth World Championship title and US$1,000,000. While this is the sixth for Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok, this victory marks the third world title for Moon “Oner” Hyeon-jun, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok. This is also the first world championship title for Choi “Doran" Hyeon-jun.

Meanwhile, KT Rolster bow out of the competition in second place, taking home US$800,000 in consolation. They still make history by having reached as far as the Grand Finals for the first time, after their strongest run at Worlds ever.
