It has been an exciting and unpredictable first week in the Swiss Stage of the League of Legends (LoL) World Championship 2025.
What many fans expected to be a straightforward start quickly turned into chaos, as a wave of upsets reshaped the standings. By the end of Week 1, the first two teams to punch their tickets to the Knockout Stage were LoL Champions Korea (LCK) third seed

PSG Talon were the first teams to bow out of the competition, finishing in 15th-16th place after going 0-3 in the opening week.
KT Rolster, Anyone's Legend dominate Week 1 of the Swiss Stage
KT Rolster put on a show throughout the first week. They started strong by taking down the LEC’s
Movistar KOI in the opening round, then continued their run with a clean win over the LCP’s
Team Secret Whales in Round 2. In the third round, they swept the LPL’s
Top Esports 2-0, securing their spot as the first team to advance to the Knockout Stage.
Anyone’s Legend carved out one of the biggest storylines of the week. They began their campaign with a statement victory over LCK second seed
Hanwha Life Esports, then shocked the world by defeating the reigning back-to-back Mid-Season Invitational champions,
Gen.G, in Round 2.
Their final series saw them drop a game to the LCP champions,
CTBC Flying Oyster, before mounting a confident comeback to close the series 2-1 and lock in their Knockout Stage berth.
