There are just eight teams left in the Mid-Season Invitational as we look ahead to the start of the Bracket Stage.
It has been an exciting week so far for League of Legends fans as the Play-In Stage for the Mid-Season Invitational is finally concluded as we move to the next phase of the tournament. The Bracket Stage is all set as we now get to see the likes of Gen.G Esports, Bilibili Gaming, G2 Esports, and Team Liquid take to the stage to show what they are made of.
And they will be joined by the four teams from the Play-In Stage, which includes the reigning world champions T1 alongside Top Esports, Fnatic, and PSG Talon. Of these four teams, PSG has caused the biggest upset in the tournament so far after they eliminated the LCS second seed, FlyQuest.
The Bracket Stage will commence from tomorrow onwards with one game being played a day, which will just be for the upper bracket quarter-finals. This will be a double-elimination bracket with every series from here on out will also be a best-of-five. And of all the match-ups this week, the biggest will probably be between G2 and T1.
This will be the third time in all international competitions that G2 and T1 will go head-to-head and the second time in MSI. The last took place back in 2022 where both teams played each other three times — twice during the Rumble Stage and in the playoffs. It's also worth noting that G2 won one of the two best-of-ones in the Rumble Stage but got humbled in the playoffs with a 3-0 battering.
As for the match-up between Fnatic and Gen.G, this will be just the second time these two teams meet with the first being Worlds 2020 during the group stage, which both teams won one apiece. But since then, Gen.G has grown from strength-to-strength by winning four LCK titles in a row.
