Fnatic were crowned as the champions of the Heroes Battle Arena. We explain their success with some insight from Khaldor.
Fnatic had been Europe's fourth best team for a while and it seems that they had enough of being behind the other European giants; Team Liquid, NaVi, and Dignitas. Whilst the other top European teams went through roster changes, Fnatic had seemed to stabilize from their very own changes. Their player synergy and drafting had seemed to be effective and they shined in the Heroes Battle Arena (HBA). Their efforts have rewarded them the number one spot for Europe by our very own leaderboards (Very first time that Fnatic took the number one spot for EU).
Fnatic had put on a wonderful display of performance at the HBA. They had proved to be able to not only beat, but dominate teams such as Dignitas and NaVi. For both of the referenced games, Fnatic had won by 3-1. Fnatic's success mainly stems from their team synergy and decision making. Both of which they had done stupendously. It is not an easy feat to beat both Navi and Dignitas. In some of the matches, Fnatic had made Dignitas appear to be very weak.
One particularly interesting thing was that Fnatic opted out for a 'traditional' support in some of their drafts. Instead, they took Tassadar, who is only able to support with shields. In other cases, Fnatic had used a triple warrior line-up, consisting of Leoric, Muradin and Sonya. This somewhat conveys the importance of warriors for Fnatic.
We here at GosuGamers were privileged to get some insight on the match from Khaldor. Khaldor had casted the HBA, henceforth his knowledge about it is invaluable. We had asked him on his insight about the final match between NaVi and Fnatic:
"The series between Na'Vi and Fnatic was quite intense, as expected. Both of the teams are fighting to be the Nr. 1 in Europe and the HBA Finals were another chance for them to prove their skills. After Na'Vi got the better of Fnatic in the last two matches Fnatic was of course hungry for revenge. With Wubby as a new addition to the team they were finally able to take Na'Vi down and decide the Bo5 in their favor. A big help was also that the addition of Wubby improved Fnatic's drafts throughout the series and helped them to crown themselves the first Heroes Battle Arena Champion."

Khaldor credits Fnatic's skill, drafting, and the addition of Wubby. Or the return of Wubby (Star Wars pun intended). The triple warrior composition was seen in the Asian meta a lot. It seems Fnatic has also adopted this and found success with it. Conclusively, after the events of Fragbite and 4K, Fnatic found their place.
