eStar defeats Cloud9 3-0: Americans head to the losers brackets.

We all knew eStar was a powerful team, but defeating Cloud9 3 matches in a row is an unexpected twist. Can Cloud9 bounce back from what some consider a huge throw??

The most interesting thing about these matches was how dominating Cloud9 appeared to be for the early portions of the game. Such a strong performance made the games appear close, and yet, eStar's late game team fighting and decision making proved unstoppable:

Tempo Storm's Zoia is clear on his opinions of the games: "You guys outclassed them in the early/mid game so hard game 1 and 2. You guys are so much better than them. Hurts my soul"

Some of the 'throws' were obvious. Cloud9 didn't take advantage of their early lead and appeared to be playing scared. How else do you explain trading for bosses when you have the level lead? Game 2 was another early lead by Cloud9, but this time it was shattered by incredible Mosh Pits and team fight decisions from eStar. Some questionable Garden Terror usage later, Cloud 9 found them selves 0-2 against an opponent unphased by their world champ status.

Then game 3 happened. A long grindy game on Blackheart's bay that once again, ended through eStar's ruthless end game team fighting. Filled with confidence, eStar BM's at Cloud9's core and finishes the match 3-0.

If you want to watch the matches your self, I suggest either Zoia or Glaurung's broadcast featuring English analysis and commentary. The level of insight they bring to the game is very entertaining and provides an expert diagnosis as to why Cloud9 lost so completely.
