It was YET ANOTHER Fnatic v. Team Liquid rivalry of the Europeans in the finals of Hitbox’s 4K Heroes Showmatch. But this matchup was one sided from the start.
Game 1 was definitely a battle of the greats. Probably the closest match of the finals. Fnatic at one point was able to take both bosses back to back but still unable to push far enough into the core. This opened up Team Liquid to take a boss after the respawn and they actually pushed TOO far into Fnatic territory getting all 5 heroes wiped out and leaving room for Fnatic to walk right in and take over uncontested. While the levels were basically evened out most of the games, Fnatic had a much better pace and map dominance than Liquid’s.
Fnatic actually wasn’t originally entered, but was invited as a last minute replacement for Virtus Pro. Last minute entry didn’t matter for them. They ripped through Team Liquid winning 3-0.
Fnatic is now on a hot 11 game win streak and inching closer and closer to taking the #2 global position over, you guessed it, Team Liquid.
Unfortunately if you missed any of the first 4K 60fps Showmatch, the VODs are not up yet but should be soon.
