Bob Ross Fan Club, the new heroes team comprising of ex-Tempo Storm and compLexity dominated the first ETS NA Cup #1 qualifier.
Now that the World Championships are over, new teams and roster changes are becoming common. During the first qualifier for ETS NA Cup #1, Bob Ross Fan Club showed the first signs of a team poised to take on the greats. This new team comprised of Arthelon, Zuna (both from Tempo Storm) Erho, McIntyre (both from compLexity) and Kenma (Cloud 9 Vortex) played with the ruthless efficiency of a seasoned team.
Their opponents in the finals were eLevate Heroes, a relatively unknown team who has recently started to compete in open qualifier tournaments. The first game was close, but Bob Ross Fan Club had stronger decision making in the end game, wisely determining when and where they could fight without chance of failure. The favored team won the first game, but eLevate made it looks close.
The second game, however, was a different story. The experience gap tells an all too familiar story: eLevate was level 12 while Bob Ross Fan Club was level 16- the snowball got out of control and the finals ended quickly. When a player like Zuna starts to gain momentum, it's hard to stop.
This victory gives Bob Ross Fan Club 32 points for seeding into the main event and, for getting second place, eLevate is rewarded 16. Remember, at the end of the qualifiers the top 8 teams will advance.
