MSI Masters Gaming Arena sends two teams to PAX Prime

Pax Prime begins August 28th in Seattle and two teams have already punched their tickets through the MSI Masters Gaming Arena qualifiers.

Cloud9 Maelstrom defeated COGnitive gaming 3-1 in the qualifier bracket of the MSI Masters Gaming Arena qualifiers to make sure that they will be one of the teams at the Heroes of the Storm Tournament at Pax Prime in Seattle at the end of August.  After dropping the first map to COGnitive gaming, Cloud9 Maelstrom returned to the form we all expect from them and won three games in a row.

In the second qualifier, Tempo Storm, much like Cloud9, lost the first map before roaring back to win the rest of the set over 2Arc Gaming, taking the series 3-1. Despite the uneasiness in the first game, TempoStorm demonstrated why they are regarded as the best team in North America with decisive victories. Every mistake by 2Arc was capitalized on as TS wore them down to an incredibly fast game four victory.

Both Cloud9 Maelstrom and TempoStorm advance to the tournament at PAX Prime joining teams such as: Team Liquid, Virtus.Pro, MVP Black, and Team eStar in what looks to be the first truly international test of Heroes of the Storm merit. A sense of pride has been brewing throughout the regions as each one believes their top team to be the best. Arguments will be won, bets will be lost, and the true champion of Heroes of the Storm may be revealed. August 28th can not come soon enough.
