Loyan and SuperJJ are yet to lose a match.

Although not all Complexity players performed to expectations, Jan “SuperJJ” Janssen and Mateusz “Loyan” Roszkowski are flying the black-and-red banner high. The two are currently undefeated in the swiss stage at 6-0, together with Hyun-Jae “DawN” Dang, the 2015 WCA champion.

As expected, the current top 16 is packed full of big names. At 5-1 with more than decent chances of making the playoffs are former GosuRankings leader Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert, former DreamHack champion Stanislav Cifka and Truesilver Championship winner Joe “Ness” Zazzaro-Francis. Luminosity Gaming’s Frank “Fr0zen” Zhang and ex-NaVi Frederik “Hoej” Nielsen are also at 5-1, but tiebreaker scores are currently keeping them out of the top eight.

A score of 4-2 in a nine-round swiss means that players need to be flawless from now on and many esteemed competitors will have to give their best today, if they want to make it out. Keaton “Chakki” Gil, Sebastian “Ostkaka” Engwall, Radu “Rdu” Dima, Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk and Pavel “Pavel” Beltukov are on that list.

Among the best storylines of day one is that of “Wifecoach”, the significant other of multi-major champion Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy, who although mathematically eliminated already went 3-0 at the start of the day against powerhouse names such as Maverick and C4mlann.
