A $5,000 Kinguin for Charity invitational will take place this weekend

After going dark after 2015, Kinguin are back with another charity tournament October 15-16.

April 2015 was the last time a Kinguin Charity invitational was held. The initiative, which was started Mid-December 2014, lived for four editions and gave out $20,000 total in prize money while raising funds by pitting Hearthstone’s finest against each other in a series of matches.

The Summer of 2015 came with corporate restructuring for the Polish-based company and in August Kinguin pulled back from esports sponsorships altogether. This meant the end of the Kinguin Invitationals, as well as the second season of their ongoing tournament, the Kinguin Pro League, whose inaugural season crowned Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh champion in May. That was also the last time Kinguin’s logo headlined a Hearthstone event.

After almost a year and a half, Kinguin are ready to put up their fifth charity invitational this weekend. Starting 15:00 CEST on October 15 and running through the weekend, KFC 2016 will feature 16 players from top teams such as G2 Esports, Virtus.pro, Complexity, Luminosity Gaming and the former Na`Vi in a single elimination bracket.
