One Night in Karazhan legendary minion and rare spell revealed

Hopping from country to country, Ben Brode showed the two cards during the South Korean announcement of One Night in Karazhan.

With only a week and a half to go until the new adventure goes live, yet another pair of new cards was revealed. This time we got to see a rare Warrior spell, Protect the King, and a legendary minion, Prince Malchezaar. Starting off with the Warrior spell, the developers added yet another piece to the puzzle that is Taunt Warrior. Its effect is extremely similar to [card]Unleash the Hounds[/card], although there is no immediate damage output. A card immediately associated with Protect the King is of course [card]Bolster[/card], which buffs all of the Pawns to 3/3 minions. The spell might just be the final push Taunt Warrior needed. With good cards like [card]Fierce Monkey[/card] and [card]Bloodhoof Brave[/card] already seeing some play, it might even make [card]King's Defender[/card] a viable card to run at least one copy of in your deck.

Prince Malchezaar was the second card to be revealed. The Eredar comes with decent stats for a 5-drop minion (think of [card]Pit Fighter[/card]), but its effect is unlike anything seen before. According to Ben Brode the legendary minions shuffled into your deck will abide by the deckbuilding rules, which means that only minions of your class and Neutral minions can be drawn, so no [card]Archmage Antonidas[/card] for Rogues just yet. Although the effect might win you a fatigue match-up, it will be a question whether or not it will even come to that. Generally speaking, random legendaries are a last resort (think of Control Warriors running [card]Elise Starseeker[/card]), and otherwise will only stand in the way of you finding the cards your deck is built around.

Be sure to check out our One Night in Karazhan spoiler page, where you will find all other revealed cards!

EDIT: Apparently Prince Malchezaar's effect takes place at the start of the match, before any cards have been played. As soon as the correct card image is available this will be updated.

EDIT 2: Correct image of Prince Malchezaar added.
