The $50,000 tournament is about to come to a close this week, starting with the top half of the bracket and names like Gaara, Lifecoach, Kolento and Neirea.

The first edition of the $100,000 Vulcun Deckmasters duology is three playdays away from its completion. Organized by the fantasy league mastodon, the Deckmasters series opened its doors to twenty players, split them into four groups and left them to their battles. Despite minor things worthy of critique like the Bo3 format in the group stages and recently brought up issues with the unclear ruleset, Vulcun’s first adventure in the world of Hearthstone enters the final stage. And the line-up is looking great.

The single elimination bracket will be played over the course of three days. One half of the bracket will be completed on each of Monday and Tuesday, while Friday will be reserved for the bronze and grand finals. Tonight at 19:00 CEST, the playoffs begin with Petar “Gaara” Stevanovic playing Gareth “Cipher” Rouse of recently founded Fade 2 Karma. Finishing top 4 in the HTC Recharged, the German looks to be back in shape, but the Brit is also enjoying a strong roster of team-mates behind him, including rising star Apostolos “Hawkeye” Karaiskos.

The second quarter final will be between Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy and lesser known Finnish player Antti “Kufdon” Lammi. For Kufdon, this will be his first chance to take the head of a leading Hearthstone player and make his break-out performance.

The winners of the first and second quarter final will move on to play Aleksandr “Kolento” Malsh and Yevgeniy “Neirea” Shumilin, both of whom finished first in their groups – a strong representation for Ukraine.
