Dog becomes the first grand finalist of DreamHack Summer

The Complexity player will fight for his first major championship in the finals of the $40,000 DreamHack Summer, awaiting the winner of TiddlerCelestial and AKAWonder.

After being the lowest seeded players in the playoffs, David “Dog” Caero might very well become the new DreamHack champion. After coming 6-1 out of the swiss round, the American had to fight through the #1 seed Apostolos “Hawkeye” Karaiskos in the quarter final to beat him 3-1 with his Rogue/Warrior/Warlock line-up.

Dog took another 3-1 victory against Dignitas’ Keaton “Chakki” Gill in a much tenser series. A Warlock versus Warrior game opened the series with Dog winning it by the skin of his teeth with his last health points remaining. Game two was just as nail-biting but the Patrons of Complexity’s player managed to prevail over Chakki’s control Warrior even after a timely [card]Brawl[/card] thrashed the tavern. In the end, it was Valeera who sealed it for Dog, as he displayed great mastery on one of his favorite classes, prevailing even in the unfavorable Oil versus Control Warrior match-up.

In the DreamHack finals, Dog will be playing against the winner of Xieyu “TiddlerCelestial” Wang and Esteban “AKAWonder” Serrano from Spain who are coming next on stream for a classic David versus Goliath battle. Currently on the top of the GosuRankings, TiddlerCelestial will be looking forward to breaking records for the highest rated player ever, while the Spaniard will fight to make his Cinderella story come true.
