Blizzard's new event, the WorldWide Invitational 2006, is starting on February 3rd. Finally they have released some official information in English.
Blizzard has launched a site for coverage and news on this even over at Battle.net. This will make it easier to keep up to date. GosuGamers revealed the players invited to the StarCraft tournament almost a week ago. Now we find out more details however. Blizzard has revealed the format of the tournament, the prizes and even the maps.

NaDa | vs | Eriador |
Nal_rA | vs | ESA.FiSheYe |
Yellow | vs | mYm.PJ |
Reach | vs | ToT)SEn( |
The brackets were determined from a seeding system, where seed #1 plays seed #8 and so on. NaDa, somewhat surprisingly, got 1st seed and plays the eight seed, Eriador. Then follows Reach with seed 2, Yellow with seed 3 and rA with the lowest korean seed, seed 4.

Into The Darkness II |
Coulee |
Signal |
Nightlight |
Luna The Final |
The map selection in these best of 3 matchups work like this: The lower seeded player will veto 1 map, then the higher seed will do the same. The 3 remaining maps are played at random. The tournament winner takes home $10.000, while the runner-up gets half that.
