Pokémon Pokopia surpasses five million units sold following Bubbly Basin DLC launch

Nintendo’s latest Pokémon game has done quite well for itself.

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have officially confirmed that the life simulation game Pokémon Pokopia has officially surpassed five million units sold. This number takes into account both physical and digital versions sold since its 5 March, 2026 launch. The game is only available to play on Nintendo Switch 2.

The game also recently received the first of its promised post-launch DLC, Bubbly Basin:

Pokémon Pokopia units sold

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have revealed new sales numbers for the latest entry in the widely popular Pokémon game franchise. Pokémon Pokopia has officially surged past five million units sold across both physical and digital copies. The game’s physical edition only includes a Game Key Card, instead of the entire game on a cartridge.

Pokémon Pokopia is currently the only game in the franchise that is exclusively playable on the Nintendo Switch 2. The next mainline entries in the series, Pokémon Winds and Waves, are also set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, signalling an imminent next-generation jump for the Pokémon franchise.

Pokémon Pokopia follows a hibernating Ditto who wakes up in a barren land devoid of humans. Working together with their new friend Professor Tangrowth, the duo work to restore the land and bring Pokémon back in great numbers, while making a home for everyone that’s worth living in.

The game recently revealed a trio of post-launch DLC, included in the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass. The first of these DLC is called Bubbly Basin, taking players to an all-new underwater town where they can make habitats to attract even more Pokémon, craft more furniture, and Dive underwater.

The next part of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass DLC will launch later in 2026, adding accessories for Pokémon to wear. Part 3 will launch sometime in 2027, adding another new town for players to restore.
