Pokemon Pokopia announces Expansion Pass with a trio of DLC, free diving update in August

Pokemon Pokopia players, it’s time to revisit your towns.

Nintendo has officially announced a host of new DLC coming to Pokemon Pokopia. The slice-of-life life simulator is getting a free update that lets players dive underwater to build houses for their underwater Pokemon. In addition to that, it’s also getting an Expansion Pass that adds three new paid DLC.

The first of these DLC will add an all-new town with more Pokemon in August 2026.

What is in the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass?

That’s right: Pokemon Pokopia is getting a ton of new DLC releasing throughout the rest of 2026! An Expansion Pass will be released for the game later today, granting access to three pieces of DLC launching towards the end of the year and in 2027. The DLC will add lots more content for players to chew on, including new Pokemon to befriend, new towns to explore, and new features to unlock.

The first of these DLC is called Bubbly Basin, and involves water-themed Pokemon rather heavily. A free update is also being released for this game, adding the ability to dive underwater and make houses for your fellow water Pokemon. This mechanic will likely tie into the Bubbly Basin DLC, which is set to include a new town.

Like every other town in the game, this new town will come with new Pokemon (like Mudkip and Popplio) and culminate with the discovery of a mythical Pokemon. This time, it looks like that mythical Pokemon will be Manaphy.

Bubbly Basin will launch in August 2026. The second DLC will add “additional new features” in late 2026, and the third DLC will add another all-new town in 2027. All three DLC can only be accessed by picking up the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion Pass.
