Wake Island is returning in Battlefield 6.
Electronic Arts has officially released a new gameplay trailer for Battlefield 6 Season 4, which is set to finally add naval warfare to the game’s multiplayer modes. The trailer shows off all the new maps and weapons players can expect to get their hands on when Season 4 arrives in just under a week from now, on 21 July, 2026.

What is coming in Battlefield 6 Season 4?
Battlefield 6 Season 4 is one of the game’s more hotly-anticipated content updates in a while, to say the least. Players have long clamoured for the addition of naval warfare to the game, after (brief) water-based zones were originally present in the base campaign, but left out of multiplayer modes. Electronic Arts was fairly swift to confirm that a naval warfare-themed update was coming, but it has taken some time to arrive in earnest.
Next week, naval warfare officially lands on Battlefield 6’s shores. Here’s how the publisher describes Season 4:
“Naval warfare has arrived, bringing all-out combat across land, air, and sea.
“Deploy to Tsuru Reef, our biggest battlefield yet, where sprawling islands, dynamic waves, boats, jets, helicopters, and ground vehicles collide in massive battles. Command the coastline with the RCB-90 Patrol Boat or race through the surf in the 7.7m NSW RHIB.
“Expand your arsenal with four new weapons, including the long-range Interdictor sniper rifle, then climb the ranks in a brand-new Ranked Battle Royale season packed with fresh rewards. And later in the season, Wake Island returns.”
There’s a lot going on in the trailer above, in standard Battlefield fashion. While Season 4’s exact details–like what new weapons and vehicles are being added–have not been officially laid out by EA yet, the trailer does confirm a few things; for one, some of the new water-based vehicles will come equipped with guns, thus turning the sea into its own battlefield.
Season 4’s new maps have already been confirmed: Tsuru Reef and Wake Island. Wake Island is a classic Battlefield map remade for this season, while Tsuru Reef is touted as the game’s largest map yet. Four new weapons will also be added to the game this season, along with the aforementioned new vehicles.
Battlefield 6 x Top Gun collab
One of these new vehicles is the F-14 Tomcat, which is teased at the end of the trailer with a winking nod to Top Gun: Maverick, with in-game footage replicating a scene from the film. The iconic Top Gun Anthem also plays in this ending segment, which heavily suggests that Battlefield 6 has a Top Gun collab lined up for this upcoming season.
The crossover has not been officially confirmed, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Battlefield 6 Season 4 launches on 21 July, 2026.
