Three S-Ranks kicks off Zenless Zone Zero Season 3.
Game developer HoYoverse has officially pulled the curtain to unveil Zenless Zone Zero’s highly-anticipated Version 3.0 update: A Sleepwalker’s Confession. This update kicks off the game’s third season of content, bringing the story to an all-new floating sky island called Roscaelifer.
There, players will meet a new cast of characters, unravel the mystery of Remielle Dan and Sunbringer, unlock a free S-Rank Agent, and more.

What is Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 about?
Zenless Zone Zero is kicking off a brand-new story arc with Version 3.0’s A Sleepwalker’s Confession update. This update begins with the Phaethon heading over to the floating sky island of Roscaelifer to treat a mysterious Ether energy that has surfaced within their body. There, they are greeted by the External Strategy Department members Velina and Normal, who help them uncover a new power called Pyrois.
Meanwhile, Roscaelifer begins to suffer a string of Bangboo self-destruction incidents, while Remielle Dan makes her grand entrance in the city.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 new banners: Velina and Norma
Two new S-Rank banners will be added in Version 3.0. The first is Administrative Director of the ESD, Wind Anomaly Agent Velina. Velina is a remarkable addition to the playable roster, as she’s the first Agent to possess the recently-added Wind attribute. Velina can accumulate Wind Anomaly buildup and cause enemies to enter the Windswept state, which triggers a unique Vortex effect when coupled with another Attribute Anomaly.
Joining Velina is the ESD’s Chief Technician, the Fire Stun Agent Norma. Norma fights in combat using her hat, which builds up Preheated Chamber and can convert teammate Quick Assists into Chain Attacks. This allows for even more Chain Attack opportunities in battle.
Ye Shunguang and Sunna will also return in 3.0 as re-run banners. The Phaethon faction Agent Pyrois, along with a Season 3-themed Proxy outfits, will be gifted to all Proxies as special Season 3 launch rewards, obtainable simply by completing the story.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 new region Roscaelifer
Much like every other annual HoYoverse game update, Zenless Zone Zero is adding a new region in Version 3.0. In this new city, players can cycle through a new series of daily activities by opening random cookies for rewards. The city has plenty of room to explore new content as well, with a sky bus, the Universal Terminal’s cameras, and the Scamall Hollow all being introduced in this patch.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 game modes and new content
Version 3.0 is adding a permanent new game mode that lets players nurture and command squads of Bangboos to repair the Central Computing Hub. They’ll have to complete chip research missions to do so. Another permanent battle mode, Annihilation Simulacrum, is also being introduced.
Additionally, a Tuning Calibrator, W-Engine, Polychromes, title, and other rewards, can be earned by completing new timed events.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 system optimisations
Version 3.0 will allow players to batch-discard unwanted Drive Discs with the click of a button. Protagonist outfit accessories can also be freely mixed across all outfits. PC users are also getting a big visual upgrade, with ray tracing, DLSS Super-Resolution, and Frame Generation.
Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 release date
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.0 will launch on 17 June, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, iOS, and Android, and Steam.
