Star Wars: Galactic Racer showed a deeper glimpse of its narrative at the Summer Game Fest.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Release date: 6 October, 2026

Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam

Developer: Fuse Games

What is Star Wars: Galactic Racer about?

Fuse Games has not been shy about offering previews and early looks at what is in store for its George Lucas-inspired racing title, bringing the iconic podracing of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace into a modern gaming experience.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer features both single-player and multiplayer modes, complete with a ranking system and a variety of additional game modes available under the Arcade section.

Players will take control of a range of Star Wars vehicles, including podracers, landspeeders, speeder bikes, and several brand-new vehicle types introduced specifically for the game.

The title also features vehicle customisation and a narrative campaign that takes players into the lawless Outer Rim, where they must attempt to dethrone legendary racer Kestar Bool. The story trailer heavily highlights the game's narrative elements, featuring appearances from the unscrupulous Sebulba, the dominant and villainous racer Bool himself, and several other characters.

When is Star Wars: Galactic Racer coming out?

Back in May, Fuse Games confirmed that Star Wars: Galactic Racer will launch on 6 October, 2026.

The release comes nearly three years after development was first announced in 2023, following the formation of Fuse Games by former developers from Criterion Games. Criterion is best known for the Burnout series and its work on the Need for Speed franchise.

What platforms is Star Wars: Galactic Racer coming to?

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The game is already available to pre-order on all platforms, with the standard edition retailing for US$60.
