What is Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Deathwatch?

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Deathwatch is the long-awaited sequel to Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, which was released in May 2022. The Chaos Gate series is a fast-paced, turn-based tactical RPG where players take control of a squad of Space Marines to combat the many threats facing the Imperium of Man.

While Daemonhunters featured the Grey Knights, a mysterious Chapter of Space Marines that specialise in fighting Daemons and the threat of Chaos, Deathwatch will instead focus on the titular Chapter of Xeno hunters. In the universe of Warhammer 40,000, the Deathwatch are a special Chapter of Space Marines composed of veteran warriors from many different Chapters. Members of the Deathwatch will temporarily leave their Chapters to serve under its banner, trading their original Chapter colors and livery for those of the Deathwatch, save for a single pauldron that identifies their Chapter of origin.

In the Chaos Gate sequel, the Space Marines will no longer be fighting alone. Supporting the transhuman warriors of the Deathwatch will be their mortal allies from the Inquisition and the Astra Militarum, providing more tactical options for your Kill Teams to better purge the enemies of the Imperium.

New to Deathwatch is the ‘Skirkmish’ game mode, which offers players fully customisable battles through which they can test their mettle against whichever enemies they wish.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate - Deathwatch will also feature an expanded roster of enemies to burn, kill, and purge. Whereas Daemonhunters pit players against the forces of the Chaos God Nurgle and the Death Guard traitor legion of Space Marines, Deathwatch will have you take on multiple Xenos species as well as other factions within the forces of Chaos.

The Xenos you will face in Deathwatch include the Tyranids and Genestealer Cults, the Orks, and the T'au Empire. Meanwhile, the list of Chaos-aligned enemies will include traitor forces of the Astra Militarum, the Cult of the Endless Dawn, and the Daemons of the Chaos God Tzeentch.

Your arsenal in taking down the enemies of the Imperium will include nine character classes, including three new ones in the Scout Sentinel and Leman Russ Tank from the Astra Militarum, as well as the powerful Redemptor Dreadnought for the Space Marines. Of course, the elite battle brothers of the Deathwatch will have unique roles, abilities, and wargear that excel against different enemies and in varying battle conditions.
