Who’s getting buffed (or nerfed) in Marvel Rivals Season 7?
NetEase Games has released Marvel Rivals’ Dev. Vision Vol. 15, diving into the upcoming new heroes and gameplay changes coming to Season 7: The Hunt is On later this week. While the season’s two new playable characters, Black Cat and White Fox, have been revealed, we now have more details on the season’s balance changes and story content.
Marvel Rivals Season 7 storyline explained
Season 7 of Marvel Rivals sees Kingpin make big moves to maintain order in present-day New York City, which is in the midst of an invasion from the forces of 2099 Nueva York. To combat this threat, Kingpin has locked the city down and ordered all superheroes to be arrested. He has also hired Black Cat to steal an enigmatic tablet, which he believes to contain the power to save New York City.
White Fox happens to join the story on a separate quest: she’s looking to free her fellow Tiger Division colleague Luna Snow. In the comics, both White Fox and Luna Snow belong to this South Korean superhero team–one whose New York-located members are now in danger due to Kingpin’s regime. White Fox and Black Cat clash in Season 7, despite their journeys being ostensibly unliked.
White Fox will join Marvel Rivals in Season 7, followed by Black Cat in Season 7.5
White Fox will be Marvel Rivals Season 7’s first playable hero, and the latest addition to the game’s roster of Strategists. The hero is able to heal allies and damage enemies using her Yeowoo Guseul (fox marbles). She can also absorb and store Kumiho energy, being a member of this shapeshifting race of nine-tailed foxes herself. She can then unleash that energy to buff allies and charm enemies.
White Fox can immediately teleport to enemies, and partially transform into a fox to heal teammates while pushing enemies back. White Fox’s ultimate fully turns her into a nine-tailed fox, at which point she can suppress enemies and heal allies with claw strikes. She can also grant allies Kumiho energy to grant them Unstoppable and Lifesteal effects.
Marvel Rivals Season 7's additional new content
Marvel Rivals Season 7 will also add a new map called Lower Manhattan, launching after a 2 April update. This season will also add an Album System, allowing players to take pictures and save them to an in-game album. Deadpool and Jeff the Land Shark are also getting an emote called Jeff Rodeo, which will be available from 1–2 April for free.
New in-game accessories are also coming for Hulk, Elsa Bloodstone, Venom, Adam Warlock, and more.
Marvel Rivals Season 7 team-up changes
New team-ups are coming to Marvel Rivals, including:
- Blessing of the Kumiho (White Fox & Luna Snow)
- Cosmic Cyclone (Storm & Adam Warlock)
These team-ups are also getting removed:
- Jeff-Nado (Jeff the Land Shark & Storm)
- Duality Dance (Luna Snow & Adam Warlock)
Marvel Rivals Season 7 balance changes
Here’s a big change coming to Marvel Rivals Season 7: ultimate energy gain rates are being reduced across the board by about 20%, with the precise amount being tuned differently for each hero role. Another big change is also in the works involving crowd control (CC) abilities. With this change, if heroes are impacted by multiple CC abilities in a short time, subsequent CC abilities will be weakened.
The change is now being tested by NetEase, with a Season 7.5 launch targeted for it to fully roll out. Additionally, here’s a list of heroes getting nerfed in Season 7:
- Winter Soldier
- Elsa Bloodstone
- Daredevil
- Doctor Strange
- Vanguard Deadpool
Here’s a list of heroes getting buffed in Season 7:
- Hulk
- Blade
- Black Panther
- Duelist Deadpool
- Iron Man
- Scarlet Witch
- Luna Snow
Emma Frost, Magik, Gambit (specifically, his ultimate ability), Invisible Woman, and more heroes will be tuned to reflect Season 7’s ultimate energy gain rate changes. Hero bans are also going up from two to three, with less time allotted for each ban phase.
Placement matches will now factor in personal performance, and adjust the player’s starting rank accordingly. Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya will also return to the Competitive map pool in Season 7.
Marvel Rivals Season 7: The Hunt is On will launch on 20 March, 2026.
