Here are some upcoming 2026 games with romance to keep an eye out for.
Valentine’s Day arrives this week, and if you’re in the mood for love but would rather find it in the world of video games, we’ve got you. There are plenty of promising games coming out in the near future with plenty of romantic options to suit every possible palate out there. Whether you’re looking to build a family (or rather, families), romance Warhammer characters (specifically, an Ogryn), or go out on dates in a farming simulator (by romancing a serial killer), we’ve got a game for you!
Here are five of the most exciting games coming out in 2026 and beyond with romance options:
Fable (Autumn 2026)
Much like the game itself, romance in the world of the upcoming Fable reboot is a little quirky. There are over 1,000 unique NPC scattered across the game’s setting of Albion, and players can go so far as to date, marry, and start families with any of them. The world is your oyster!
However, developer Playground Games has noted that actually romancing all of these characters will be quite tricky. Fable’s bountiful characters will react to the player’s decisions throughout the main story, and it’s hard to tell as of right now whether they’ll be pleased with your actions or not.
Fable is launching in Autumn 2026.
Witchbrook (2026)
This upcoming indie witch-life simulation game has been on our radar for a while. Witchbrook promises to whisk players away on an adventure in the cosy seaside city Mossport, where they’ll take up magic classes in Witchbrook College. While learning more about magic and embracing extra-curricular activities, they will also be able to make friends with some of the cityfolk, and yes–even romance them!
While the exact depths of Witchbrook’s romance systems are currently unknown, this looks like the perfect game for those of us who loved playing Stardew Valley–only this time, we can all be witches and wizards.
Witchbrook is launching sometime in 2026.
Grave Seasons (TBA)
After escaping from jail, players make a new life for themselves in the idyllic town of Ashenridge in this farming life simulator game. Here’s the twist: while trying to put down roots in town by building up your farm, you’ll discover that a string of murders are suddenly occurring in Ashenridge. You’ll have to befriend the local townsfolk and figure out who this serial killer really is.
Here’s the twist: you’ll be able to romance the townsfolk while investigating these murders–and yes, that includes the killer themselves, too!
Grave Seasons does not have a release date yet, but this game will likely appeal to those of who enjoy a darker touch in the romance stories we consume.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy (TBA, now in Closed Alpha)
You wouldn’t boot up a Warhammer 40,000 game with the expectation of falling in love with an Ogryn, but Dark Heresy might just subvert those expectations. This RPG serves as a follow-up to Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, allowing players to romance its colourful cast of companions. As per its developer Owlcat Games, the game will have “crazy romances.” It also has an Ogryn companion. Just saying!
If you’re a big fan of Baldur’s Gate 3, you might find a few similarities between both games. Dark Heresy is also a CRPG, and much like Baldur’s Gate 3 draws on the world of Dungeons & Dragons to build out an elaborate campaign, so does Dark Heresy draw on the world of Warhammer 40,000 to build out a grimdark campaign. Not so grimdark, however, so as to exclude love and romance entirely.
Warhammer 40,000 Dark Heresy is currently in alpha, and has no release date.
Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream (16 April, 2026)
In Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, romances take a different shape. Instead of actively controlling each and every one of the little Miis populating your island, you’ll watch them grow and develop relationships with one another–albeit with a little encouragement from yourself, of course.
There’s a soap opera-esque fantasy in watching these Miis go out with one another, deepen their bonds, and ultimately get rejected while on a complex four-way Ferris Wheel date. It’s the kind of thing you can only see unfold in Tomodachi Life, and that’s why we can’t wait for the game to launch on 16 April, 2026.
