Capcom’s recent Resident Evil Showcase showed off more gameplay for Leon S. Kennedy.
Capcom held a Resident Evil Showcase this week to show off more gameplay and announcements for Resident Evil Requiem, focusing on the horror sequel’s secondary protagonist: Leon S. Kennedy. Leon and Grace Ashcroft will act as the game’s dual protagonists, exploring a ruined Raccoon City.

Capcom shows off gameplay for Resident Evil Requiem
Leon S. Kennedy fans can breathe easy, as the Division of Security Operations (D.S.O.) agent is officially returning with all of his iconic kicks and parries intact. Capcom confirmed that Leon’s combat kit is heavily inspired by Resident Evil 4, which explains his more action-packed gameplay compared to the more survival horror-esque tone of Grace’s story.
The Resident Evil Showcase also confirmed three difficulty settings for Resident Evil Requiem: Casual, Standard, and Standard (Classic), the latter of which has Grace collect ink ribbons to save her game using typewriters. That’s a throwback to earlier Resident Evil games, which would have players only be able to make a specific number of saves depending on how many ink ribbons they had.
The showcase also revealed a new twist on Resident Evil’s usual crafting system. This time around, players will have access to a few items that can only be crafted using blood from infected zombies. Killing zombies will give players more blood for crafting, which Grace can do with her handy revolver.
Following the werewolf-like monsters of Resident Evil Village and mold monsters of Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Resident Evil Requiem is returning to classic zombies as seen in the original games. However, these zombies behave a little strangely–they seem to be able to recall aspects of their previous lives, as seen with a custodian zombie that continued to clean the building while in zombie form.
Lastly, the Resident Evil Showcase touched on Elpis, an apparent keyword related to the main mystery Leon and Grace find themselves tied up in in this game.
More Resident Evil Requiem collabs announced
The Resident Evil Showcase also revealed another collaboration for Resident Evil Requiem, following an earlier collaboration with Porsche for Leon’s shiny new car. Hamilton is teaming up with Capcom to create two unique watches for both Grace and Leon, which they will both wear in-game. Only 2,000 units of each Hamilton watch will be distributed for sale.
Lastly, an amiibo and a Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller themed after Resident Evil Requiem are also in the works, along with figurines of both Grace and Leon.
Resident Evil Requiem is launching on 27 February, 2026. You can pick up a copy of the game on Playasia here.
