Gundam’s arrival in Apex Legends will introduce eight Gundam-inspired Legend skins, weapons, and more crossover content.
Respawn Entertainment has officially announced that Apex Legends is collaborating with the iconic Japanese mech franchise Gundam. The crossover event is set to launch on 11 March and will run until 15 April, bringing a wide range of limited-time cosmetics and themed content to the battle royale.
Players will be able to visit the limited-time Apex Legends x Gundam Event Store to purchase exclusive collaboration items throughout the event period. Full details of the event can be found here.
Eight Gundam Legend skins announced
The Apex Legends x Gundam crossover is bringing Gundam-inspired skins for eight Legends, each based on a different Mobile Suit from the franchise. The following skins will be available for direct purchase in the Event Store:
- Alter: Gundam Epyon
- Conduit: Gundam Aerial
- Crypto: Freedom Gundam
- Gibraltar: Xi Gundam
- Mirage: Destiny Gundam Spec II
- Octane: GQuuuuuux
- Revenant: Gundam Deathscythe Hell
- Valkyrie: Wing Gundam Zero
In addition, a Char Aznable-inspired Sparrow skin will be available in the Reward Shop, obtainable by earning Medals throughout the event. All Legend skins will remain available in the Event Store until 14 April.
More Gundam-inspired additions
The collaboration extends beyond character cosmetics. Players can also acquire eight Gundam-themed weapon skins, including the “Buster Rifle” Kraber, “Destiny 99” R-99, and the “Aerial 301” R-301. Gundam-styled Mythic items have also been announced, featuring the Epyon Heat Rod and Beam Saber.
The crossover will also bring environmental changes to player experience. Players will see a transformed Broken Moon map, which will become a full Gundam battlefield. Players can expect to encounter scattered Mobile Suits across the terrain, enormous climbable Wing Gundam statues, and ship battles unfolding in the skies above.
New Wild Cards will further add on to the crossover experience, granting Gundam-inspired abilities such as Epyon’s Lash, Zero Sacrifice, and Zero Rebirth.
Limited-edition Apex Legends x Gundam merch announced
For fans looking to celebrate the crossover beyond the game, Bandai Namco will release three limited-edition Apex Legends-inspired Model Kits (GUNPLA). These will be available for online pre-order beginning 18 March.
