Marvel Rivals adds MCU Avengers-themed modes and events in 2026 Path to Doomsday roadmap

Marvel Rivals’ upcoming MCU crossover content has been revealed.

NetEase Games’ hero shooter Marvel Rivals has revealed an ambitious 2026 slate of upcoming crossovers with Marvel Studios’ live-action Avengers film franchise. The game is getting a “Path to Doomsday” event spanning six months, running from April to December 2026, and leading up to the release of Avengers: Doomsday.

Path to Doomsday will consist of in-game modes and events inspired by The Infinity Saga, ending with a crossover with Avengers: Doomsday at the tail end of the year.

Everything fans can expect in Marvel Rivals’ Path to Doomsday MCU crossovers

Marvel Rivals is no stranger to crossovers with the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point, but in 2026, the game is taking things up a notch. The game is rolling out an ambitious Path to Doomsday event starting in April 2026, featuring crossovers with every mainline Avengers film released to date. Here’s a release timeline for the crossovers:

  • Avengers–April 2026
  • Avengers: Age of Ultron–June 2026
  • Avengers: Infinity War–August 2026
  • Avengers: Endgame–October 2026
  • Avengers: Doomsday–18 December, 2026

These crossovers are cohesively referred to as Path to Doomsday, leading up to the release of Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December, 2026. The event will culminate with a big Doomsday crossover on the same day, with some fans speculating that it might finally see the arrival of Doctor Doom himself as a playable character. NetEase stopped just short of confirming as much, only saying that “In December, we'll be fully igniting the battlefield with all-new in-game content to celebrate the release of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Doomsday!”

We do have more information regarding the first of these Avengers crossovers, however.

Path to Doomsday kicks off with a Marvel Rivals x The Avengers (2012) PvP event in April 2026

In April 2026, the first Path to Doomsday crossover will arrive via a tie-in event with Marvel Studios’ The Avengers (2012). This event introduces a limited-time asymmetrical PvP mode, which pits one single Loki player against six other heroes. That mimics the plotline of The Avengers, though Loki will be buffed to play the role of big bad in this mode. He'll also get a new skin based on his MCU outfit in the film.

According to NetEase: “Loki is equipped with an all-new skill set, combining deception, illusions, and powerful Infinity Stone abilities to turn enemies against each other! To claim victory, the other heroes can also summon Hulk under certain conditions, recreating [the] iconic scene from the film!”

Playable Black Cat and White Fox teased in Marvel Rivals Season 7

The Marvel Rivals x The Avengers event does not have an exact release date yet, but it will arrive in April 2026, as part of Marvel Rivals Season 7. Another recent announcement from NetEase covered more upcoming content players can expect in Marvel Rivals this year, including the introduction of “a master thief and secret agent" in Season 7.

Given past in-game teases, it's likely that this means players are getting Black Cat (a master thief) and White Fox (a secret agent) in Season 7.
