Resonance: A Plague Tale prequel unveiled, launches in 2026
It’s official: Asobo Studio is making a new game in its A Plague tale series. Having concluded series protagonists Amicia and Hugo’s journey in A Plague Tale: Requiem, Asobo is moving the series forward by taking players back in time. Resonance: A Plague Tale is set 15 years years before the duo’s story came to an end.
The game follows a young plunderer named Sophia, who seeks to uncover the secrets of her past in Minotaur’s Island–a place named after Greek legends of old, of which certain myths appear to be true. Players will shift between Sophia’s present timeline and ancient Minoan times, as certain events begin to resonate between both ages.
Here’s a description of the game, as per the PlayStation Store:
Set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem, play as Sophia, a fierce young plunderer, on the run and determined to uncover the secrets of her past. Dive into an original story blending combat, myth and fate with a brand new take in the universe of A Plague Tale.
Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur' Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her. But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon resonate with her…
Resonance: A Plague Tale launches sometime in 2026.
