The fan-favourite werewolf has finally arrived in Deadlock. Here’s everything you need to know about Silver.
Since Valve revealed the lineup of upcoming heroes for Deadlock's Old Gods, New Blood update, Silver has become one of the most talked-about additions–appealing to fans of her gruff, yet feminine werewolf persona. But despite her popularity, Rem and Graves arrived earlier, which led to inevitable debate.
After over a week of chaos among players, Silver is finally here in Deadlock as the third most-voted hero among the six new faces. Here’s everything you need to know about the silver-haired werewolf.
Silver has a successful career as a bounty hunter, thanks to her incredible intuition–sharpened by her werewolf nature. She’s described as “a mess who drinks and smokes too much”, but beyond that, she remains largely mysterious. Her weapon is a shotgun with a slow shooting speed but it's apparent that she is designed for heavy melee fighting.
All of Silver's abilities in Deadlock
The highlight of Silver’s abilities is her ability to transform into a werewolf, which lies in her ultimate. With every damage dealt to an enemy hero, she generates stacks of bloodlust. At max bloodlust, she will automatically transform into a melee werewolf, with a new set of “ferocious versions” abilities.
Here are her abilities in both forms:
Normal version:
- Slam Fire: Reload your gun and gain bonus fire rate & weapon damage based on the target's health.
- Boot Kick: Dash forward and kick the first enemy, dealing melee damage and marking them, while also tossing yourself back. Shooting the marked enemy deals bonus damage.
- Entangling Bola: Throw a bola dealing spirit damage and disables movement for caught heroes.
- Lycan Curse: Dealing damage builds up bloodlust, instantly activating when max bloodlust is achieved. Once transformed, you have gained health, movespeed and fire rate. Your abilities are replaced with ferocious versions. Transform back to default after 15 seconds.
Ferocious version:
- Go For The Throat: Deal melee damage to all enemies in front of you, healing for a portion of the damage dealt.
- Mauling Leap: Leap forward, mauling the first enemy hit for melee damage and applying spirit bleed.
- Tail Whip: Slash enemies around you, dealing spirit damage and applying disarm and slow.
With Silver's arrival in Deadlock, alongside the prior additions Rem and Graves, the upcoming heroes remaining are Celeste, Venator, and Apollo–whose release sequence will continue to be determined by fan votes. Players can earn votes by winning Deadlock matches and submitting their choices at the ballot box table in the game’s lobby.
Deadlock continues to receive new and upgraded additions to the game. The Old Gods, New Blood update, released two weeks ago, introduced a new mode, scheduled the release of six new heroes, and recently added a banning system to drafts. These changes have driven repeated peaks in player count.
With such a robust update, many are now suggesting that Deadlock nears its beta launch after over a year in closed alpha, invite-only access.
