Persona 5: The Phantom X announces SEA release date
Persona 5: The Phantom X is a gacha spin-off of the renowned turn-based RPG Persona 5, allowing players to build a party of Phantom Thieves by pulling new Confidants and building up their shared bonds. The turn-based game incorporates aesthetics and story elements from Persona 5, but is otherwise set in its own separate universe.
Persona 5: The Phantom X has been in operation in select regions including China and South Korea since early 2024. The game only recently announced a global release on 26 June, 2025, in regions like the United States and Japan. However, that announcement also brought confirmation that the supposed global release wouldn't include a plethora of SEA regions.
This week, publisher IWPlay has been confirmed to distribute the game in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, according to a Google Play Store listing. In these regions, the game is now available for pre-registration on mobile platforms and PC.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is developed by Black Wings Game Studio, and published by Perfect World, Sega, and IWPlay World globally. Its story follows a second-year high school student at Kokatsu Academy named Wonder, whose life takes a dramatic turn after meeting an owl-like creature named Lufel.
Persona 5: The Phantom X launches on 3 July, 2025 in select SEA regions.
